The following is a rather fitting way to wrap up the blogging year of 2006. I got this survey from Brad who got it from Katie who got it from Mitch.
1.Was 2006 a good year for you?
Yes

2. What was your favorite moment(s) of the year?
Holding my hours old Godchild; seeing a good friend slowly return to her old self;each day that I spend with my children and husband.

3. What was your least favorite moment(s) of the year?
Each phone call from a teacher asking if I had a few moments. Also, getting a desperate phone call from my nephew at 10:45pm that he had just returned home from work to find his apartment broken into and his brand-new iMac with 20″ widescreen display gone. He had spent every penny he had earned the entire spring and summer on that computer.

4. What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before?
Let myself be driven in my own car by a teenager.

5. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t make resolutions.

6. Where were you when 2006 began?
I really don’t remember, which probably means I was at home.

7. Who were you with?
My husband and children.

8. Where will you be when 2006 ends?
The clock just struck midnight and I am sitting at the dining room table, watching my husband and nephew battle it out on the monopoly board.

9. Who will you be with when 2006 ends?
My husband, my daughter, my nephew, two cats and one dog

10. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my brother’s wife gave birth to a beautiful boy. It only took ten years to deliver him!
11. Did you lose anybody close to you in 2006?
No one in my immediate family, thankfully.

12. Who did you miss?

My loved ones are all nearby.

13. Who was the best new person you met in 2006?
I met several people in 2006 - Craig Parton and the rest of the fine presenters at the Confessional Christian Worldview Seminar in October of this year, fellow blogger Bruce G., our newest pastor, Rodney Flohr, my Godson, C.J., my fantastic gynecologist/surgeon, Dr. Maeder, Taylor Hicks and many others I’m sure.

14. What was your favorite month of 2006?
No particular month stands out in my mind, so I’ll just say September because that is always my favorite month.

15. Did you travel outside of the US in 2006?
No, but my husband and son went to Canada.

16. How many different states did you travel to in 2006?
Sheesh, I didn’t go anywhere this year.

17. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
An improvement in my personal health.

18. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The hours between August 22 and August 23 will be etched upon my memory as long as I have a memory.

19. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Teaching my dog to lay down.

20. What was your biggest failure?
Gee, that list would be kinda long and not very fun to write on New Year’s Eve. I’ve completely accepted the fact that I’m a sinner in complete need of God’s grace. My failures are continual.

21. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes, but not as serious as it could have been.

22. What was the best thing you bought?
A new camera.

23. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My daughter has made some incredible improvements in her academic performance.

24. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My own behavior is appalling and depressing enough for me; I don’t dare look at others.

25. Where did most of your money go?
Ummm, Starbucks and Caribou, West Lutheran High School, Jodi Karn Skating School, Summit School of Dance, Ford Motor Credit, T-Mobile, Target, Aldi and Trader Joe’s, Hanus Sports, iTunes and many other fine institutions.

26. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
If you read this blog regularly, you can easily answer that question. Go on…just make a wild guess….

27. Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2006?
In 2005, I tried to broaden my horizons with different beers. In 2006, my body let me know that, while my tastebuds really enjoy a good beer, my stomach doesn’t actually like it. So, in 2007 I intend to develop my taste for wine. This will be a challenge since the best wine I’ve ever tasted is communion wine. And, no, that’s not why I switched to the common cup. ha ha.

28. Did you do a lot of drugs in 2006?
Oh yeah. Advil, Tylenol, Aleve, a multitude of antibiotics and a few stints with Vicodin (how DO people end up addicted to that stuff???).

29. Did you treat somebody badly in 2006?
Surely.

30. Did somebody treat you badly in 2006?
I suppose so, although I’m not one to remember those things for long.
31. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier
ii. thinner or fatter? Unfortunately, fatter.
iii. richer or poorer? Fortunately, richer!

32. What do you wish you’d done more of in 2006?
Read more books and walked around the lake at work more often.

33. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Lost my temper with my kids.

34. Did you fall in love in 2006?
I fell in love with a certain guy back in 1983 and haven’t ever fallen out!

35. What was your favorite TV program(s)?
American Idol and CBS Sunday Morning

36. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Anything by Taylor Hicks

37. How many concerts did you see in 2006?
One professional concert and many school concerts.
38. Did you have a favorite concert in 2006?
Yes, Little Memphis Blue Orchestra

39. What was your greatest musical discovery?
In 2006, I discovered that good music had not died in the 1970’s.

Concordia: The Lutheran Confessions

41. What was your favorite film of this year?
Raising Helen

42. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Enjoyed a nice dinner at my favorite restaurant, Redstone. I turned too old to say.

A nice dinner with my family!

Ummm, an Audi TT Roadster…
45. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Who knows?  The Audi TT Roadster?

46. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Find something that fits that looks reasonably presentable and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg
47. What kept you sane?
Laughter

Not to many celebrities nor public figures catch my fancy these days.

This is a strange quiz, but it’s late on a Friday night and I’ve nothing else to do…except clean, or wash dishes, or wash clothes (no laundry soap). At least I finally have unquestionable proof of my sanity. Actually I’m plenty capable of going postal, just ask my teenagers.
