British Invasion week on American Idol:update
Update: What a fantastic show! Both Peter and Lulu looked so good! And they still can sing well! I thought that they were among the best vocal coaches that AI has had so far.
Regarding the funny photo that needed an explanation, I emailed Mr. Peter Noone himself and he replied! Here’s his reply:
“It was at a school and it was a girl’s skirt from her uniform. She got expelled.”
Peter Noone wearing a skirt in concert. Why, I do not know…
Next week is British Invasion week on American Idol. It has the potential of being interesting. Peter Noone will be the guest coach. He mentions it on his blog.

Stupid questions first: is Peter Noone Scottish? Is that a kilt?
We should ask Scottius Maximus for an official ruling…
TK!
Perhaps I can be of assistance.
Noone is an Irishter name. Which, making him a Celt, makes his wearing of a kilt perfectly “kosher.”
Except that is not a kilt. That is most certainly a skirt. For it is neither tartan, a Scottish style kilt of criss-crossing colors, nor solid, an Irishter style kilt.
There also appear to be no pleats.
He is also not wearing traditional hosiery or brogues. In fact, I would say he is just wearing black trousers.
Oh, yes, that is most definitely a skirt. One which should attire a young parochial school lass rather than a middle aged singer who should know better.
Unless…unless that isn’t Peter Noone, but actually his twin sister, Petra Noone. Then I guess it’s okay.
But then again, I don’t think it’s either one.
Look at the picture again closely. Because the real identity is…none other than Martina Navratilova.
Better find another Peter picture.
ROFL!!!!!!
Petra Noone. Now that’s a classic Scottius Maximus comment!
Did I mention I stole the photo from his website? Pretty funny stuff. Maybe I’ll have to email Peter and see if he answers….There, I just did it. Stay tuned to see if the big guy answers.
Hi! I hope you are enjoying every precious minute of normal life and not fretting about the Big Day. You and your doctors are in my prayers.
Diet update: I went on the Slim Fast diet — for all of one day. I could only stand one of their shakes and it was my favorite flavor, coffee, too. God bless you for being so disciplined. Starting Sunday, after I co-host a bridal shower on Saturday, I will try the low carb diet again as recommended by my oncologist. I enjoy food too much for a starvation diet — about 50 pounds too much.
I left a message over at Chris-Sligh.info, which is the semi-official site for the Fro Patro, suggesting that Chris sing Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Crying by Gerry and the Pacemakers. I hope he reads it. What do you think?
Terrie,
Yes, I’m enjoying the last of my “normal” life…if normal is being curled up in a ball for 5-7 days a month. ha! I’m blocking out the terrified thoughts and just letting the positive ones reach my brain center. Ugh. I do not look forward to recover, but at least I’ll just be recovering and not undergoing any treatments for anything worse. For that, I am so thankful. I am continuing with my diet and have lost 31 pounds and counting. Even with increasing my calories to 1200 for pre and post op (one month total), I continue to lose weight. What I love about this diet is that its more balanced than low carb. I have lost weight on low carb before, but couldn’t keep the eating plan and couldn’t maintain the weight loss. Optifast really works for me. It’s lower carb, but also lower fat and calorie. I can have some good carbs. Maybe its more like South Beach. Have you tried that?
I love Chris Sligh! I downloaded his new CD and its very good. I bought a t-shirt from his website, but my daughter stole it from me! She wore it to high school the other day. Go Fro Patrol.
10 days and counting until Taylor Hicks in concert! Not too long after, I present my body to my surgeons, Nicky and Bree, to be carved up…like a Thanksgiving turkey.
TK!
What a cool guy!
I didn’t see the show. Isn’t Lulu that big girl that was on Hee Haw?
You’re mean! I wish I looked as good as Lulu! Time has been kind to her and it didn’t look like much was artificially preserved either. Is the other Lulu even around any more? Yep, she is.
