Tagged by a Townhall blogger!
I haven’t really advertised that I have a Townhall blog. Probably because I don’t actually write in it, but refer people back here. Anyway, Lady Logician, a fellow MOB’er has tagged me. Here’s how it works. ”People who get tagged need to write a blog stating 6 unusual or weird things about themselves as well as state this rule clearly. In the end of the post, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names and links. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.”
1) I have been married to the same man 22 1/2 years. That seems to be unusual these days, especially considering that more and more of my neighbors and acquaintances are getting divorced;
2) I love the cold and snow of Minnesota. I actually don’t like hot weather. I attribute that to my Ukrainian blood;
3) One of my very favorite smells is the smell of a very cold indoor ice rink at 6am. Who knew freon was actually a good fragrance?;
4) I gambled at a casino for the first time, at the age of 46, just last weekend. I wasted a whopping $10.00 (plus the $10.00 in free money they give you.);
5) I failed my first year of college. Well, actually…I got an “A” in downhill skiing and a “D” in Intermediate German. That’s it! Those were my only transferable credits. I switched schools and made the Dean’s List every quarter after that.;
6) I think the Electric Light Orchestra is the best band ever. I don’t know anyone else who would agree with me on that one.

“I have been married to the same man 22 1/2 years.
Since most years have 365 days, an odd number, then for you to have been married exactly 22.5 years means you were married in a leap year, right? Because 1/2 of 365 is not a whole number, but half of 366 is.
Must have been 1984, which was indeed a leap year. So subtracting exactly 183 days (1/2 of 366) from today, means you were married on August 10, 1984.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
“I love the cold and snow of Minnesota. I actually don’t like hot weather. I attribute that to my Ukrainian blood”
I don’t like cold. But then again, I’m not Ukrainian, I’m A negative.
“One of my very favorite smells is the smell of a very cold indoor ice rink at 6am. Who knew freon was actually a good fragrance?”
Very funny!
But, since it smells that good, and since smell is 90% of taste, that has me thinking how good freon must taste.
Let’s make an ice cream flavor called “Freon” and sell it to Baskin-Robbins as the world’s only non-melting ice cream. Then let’s see how popular it becomes.

I can now scratch off question #463- does TK hang with Charles Barkley?- from my list of questions to ask TK about TK.
“I failed my first year of college. Well, actually…I got an “A” in downhill skiing and a “D” in Intermediate German. That’s it! Those were my only transferable credits. I switched schools and made the Dean’s List every quarter after that”
You must have been one of those Madonna Wannabe party girls! Sorry, I forgot, you are probably slightly too old for that group. How about a Blondie Wannabe party girl? Or a Farrah Wannabe party girl?
And I can’t believe downhill skiing is a transferable college credit.
“I think the Electric Light Orchestra is the best band ever. I don’t know anyone else who would agree with me on that one”
I agree they are great. But how can an orchestra be the best band ever?
Scottius Maximus! Thanks, once again, for helping me get caught laughing at my computer screen.
1. Our anniversary date - You are so smart it scares me. You are only 14 days off on our anniversary.
2. I’m a very positive Ukrainian. I don’t know my blood type, though. I suppose I should…
3. I am pretty sure that Freon flavored ice cream would really just be like an ice cube. I also like chewing on ice cubes, which drove my mother absolutely nuts.
4. Not getting the Charles Barkely reference…Please explain.
5. I was right in between Farrah and Blondie, I think. Actually, my mom had this great idea that joining a sorority as a freshman would help me develop into a mature young woman. I developed into a heavy partying girl. Thankfully, it only lasted for 1 1/2 years.
6. Thus proving my point. I have yet to find someone who agrees with me that ELO is the best band of all time. I absolutely love it when I played “I Can’t Get It Out of My Head” when my son is in the car and he still thinks its some unknown song of John Lennon. That says a lot right there! I realize I am alone in my enthusiasm. Someone tell Jeff Lynne. Be sure to mention I’m happily married, but also let him know I’m his biggest fan. (Not BIG-est, but biggest).
Isn’t it about time for another Scottius Maximus Random Observations post?
TK!
Yes, it is time for one. There’s definitely one brewing right now.
And Charles Barkley- I’m sure you’d know him if you saw him. He’s a former NBA player who recently let it be known he has dropped a few million at the casinos.
Lucy says hello. She says she has tried to leave comments here but for some reason she isn’t able to. She said it must be “Lucyitis”. I must help her understand.
I tried to email this to Lucy, but she must have changed her email address: Lucy,
Too funny! Your husband says you can’t figure out the comments on my blog. Don’t feel bad. Lots of people can’t. I finally posted directions in the upper-right hand corner of the main page. Here is a special set of instructions just for you: Click on the colored square box a t the upper left top of each post. If the box has a “0″, no one has commented. If the colored box has another number, it means someone has commented. A little to esoteric? I loved the template and didn’t even find out myself about the secretive way to comment for a few weeks.
Sorry for the confusion!!! Hope your family is staying warm. We are finally warming to 10 degrees today, but it will go back down to below zero at nights for a few days more. My poor dog has gained a little weight and badly needs to start running with me again.
Enjoy your Saturday and have a blessed Sunday!
Theresa
Okay TK! Here goes! I hope this comment goes through! Thank you for the special instructions! I know what you mean about the cold weather because Samson and I have not gone for a walk until today. We went on a quick 5 minute walk which is better than nothing! However, we will have to increase that time! He absolutely loves the snow - it must be the husky in him! Well, you take care and stay warm too!
I hope you and Kirby get to get your exercise soon! Blessings! You, Rob, and your kids are in my prayers!!
