Tablethoughts for this week…

Tabletalk is definitely the latest fun twist in the confessional Lutheran blogosphere. I got to chat with The Bunnie online for the first time. It was quite an honor! Here are other frequenters:

Aardvark Alley, Anxious Contentment, Be Strong In The Grace, Bunnie Diehl, The Burr in the Burgh, Confessing Evangelical, Cyberbrethren, David Creates With Legos; God With Logos, Drowning Myself Whenever I Can, Evangelical Lutheran, Here We Stand, Intolerant Elle, The Joshua Victor Theory, Maelstrom, Necessary Roughness, The Online Pilgrim, Preaching Christ Crucified, Preach. Teach. Confess., Random Thoughts of a Confessional Lutheran, The Small Catechlysm, Spirit and Life, Terrible Swede, Theology Geek, Theomony, plus many other readers!

It is just silly to have to fight my teens for the computer. I’ve got to get a second computer in this house!

  1. I missed the Bunnie?! I hate living on the east coast and having to go to bed too early…or maybe I’m just getting old

  2. Jason,

Bunnie is on the east coast, too! Actually, I understand. I usually stay up too late on Tabletalk nights. I hope you don’t feel old just because my teenager daughter lumped you in with us old folks! :) She is in the blissfully unaware stage. Either that or she’s actively trying to avoid adulthood.

  3. I’m afraid I’m more of an infrequenter of TableTalk. 9 pm East Coast time equates to 2 am UK time, which is a tad late to be joining in the discussions.

My one visit so far was the first and so far only time I’ve used any kind of chatroom, so most of my time was spent doing the computer equivalent of going *tap* *tap* *tap*, “Is this thing on?” And then cutting myself off accidentally.

It was like one of Garrison Keillor’s bachelor farmers being confronted with a mobile phone for the first time.

  4. I should have said that borrowed that list from http://sceleratissimus-lutheranus.blogspot.com/.

In relation to John’s comment, it seems to me that people show up at the table a wide range of times. Maybe we could run an international room and leave time open for all. I know for me that the current time is very difficult - lots of family duties at that time. I often stop by at 8pm, chat for a bit, leave and then come after 10pm. There’s still lots of folks there. People like Theology Geek and others have to get up early, so they leave by 10pm ET I’ll have to talk to the innkeepers to see if we can open up the pub a little earlier. I’m often home by 4pm which would be 9pm your time (I think). Maybe that time would work for others. I’ll post this and see what others say.

John: If you feel like Garrison Keillor, then I feel like Grandma Moses. I’ve run into a whopping TWO people who are older than me.
