The lady pirates of Captain Bree

The Lady Pirates, led by Captain Bree, capture a British ship, it’s captain, passengers and prisoners.
The humiliated captain decides to open his shipboard jail and let the prisoners become his crew.
The British Navy to the rescue.
To save Captain Bree’s life, Captain Jennings (who has fallen in love with Captain Bree), joins forces with the lady pirates against the British Navy.

Long hair is in again. Hehe, I forsee many logical reasons to delay hair cuts in the future.
Rob’s sister Sarah performed this play at her middle school last year. She was Captain Bree.
It was cute, but it was more or less just songs and kids running around, on and off stage. Oh well. I still enjoyed it because it was Sarah.
Devona,
Funny that you should notice that. Yes, long hair is definitely in, although the teens seem to be moving to long layered hair now compared to the long all-one-length look of the past few years or so. Everything goes in cycles and I suppose short hair will come back. At Kristy’s dance studio (1100 students), I would say that 99% have long hair. That estimatation is obvious at their recitals and competitions. Some of the numbers even use long hair as part of the dance, like in the lyrical modern ballet numbers. Also, I think that even in sports long hair is helpful because you can more easily keep it out of your face than the shorter styles.
Devona,
That’s neat that your sister was in this musical, too. I’d never heard of it before. It was a good choice for this particular group of 7th and 8th graders, due to the high percentage of girls and their modern “tomboy” image (I can’t think of a better term, but they aren’t very girly these days.)
Great pics! Has your son watched “Master and Commander”, by any chance?
No, we haven’t watched it. We should rent it this holiday weekend, since the forecast is cold and rainy. We will also watch “Luther” which I bought about three months ago, but haven’t watched yet.
i am playing in the play at my school…i am patty and shawna…who were you?
My son was one of the British soldiers.
last year we did Lady Pirates of Captain Bree and I was bree. it was a lot of fun. Although some kids were not into it, so it didn’t turn out very energetic till thechasing scene
