American Idol predictions for 3/24
I’ve finally started liking this show. My two teens have always liked it, but I think my interest in the show was fueled by sane grown adults blogging about American Idol. Glen Piper and Terrie Rosas are two of my favorite bloggers and American Idol commentators.
On to the predictions:
Piper says: So, I think the bottom 3 will consist of Mikalah, Anthony, and Vonzell (It could also be Jessica, though based on performance it should be Nadia or Anwar).
No performer-specific predictions from Terrie; she makes even bigger predictions:
“Of course, winning is still the raison d’etre and I foresee more winners this season than any before, including music producers, agents and lawyers. I expect AI4 to generate a record number of recording contracts for the top 12 plus its most famous exile, Mario Vazquez. Obviously, a career is a different matter, but I think there are more than a few contenders among the remaining eleven.”
I say:
Anthony Federov - I’m feeling very guilty for not appreciating my fellow Ukrainian.
Carrie Underwood - Wow! She has to be among the few to be able to nail that tune, although I hated to hear someone other than Heart sing it.
Scott Savol - The throwing the glasses bit was very artificial. I hope it wasn’t his own idea.
Bo Bice - I loved Jim Croce!!! He won my heart wtih that song and did an excellent job singing it. Cut your hair!!!
Nikko Smith - Not catching his act…average singer with good stage presence.
Vonzell Solomon - Beautful and an average singer.
Constantine Maroulis - I loved the way he sang that song. I do think he was doing a parody of David Cassidy in a very good way.
Nadia Turner - From the very first moment I saw her, I knew she would be the next American Idol. Will I be right? She needs to pick out songs that can work with her low voice.
Mikalah Gordon - From the very first moment I saw her, I knew she wouldn’t be the next American Idol…but I knew she would one day be a star. The next Bette Midler, the next Babs…she’ll be something and having the last laugh. What a fantastic talent! I love her!
Anwar Robinson - I have always thought that he was probably the best bet for the male top performer.
Jessica Sierra - Excellent voice. No stage presence. Goof choice of song.
There! I finished just in time to watch Thursday night’s episode.
Update
I knew the Mikalah would be canned. Her talent is not for this competition. I am guessing that she has already fielded many, many offers. May her parents choose wisely to maximize her opportunities, while allowing her to have her teen years without ending up like Lindsey Lohan.

All right! Another person sucked into the reality vortex!
(Although, to be fair, AI really isn’t “reality” as much as it is a very well done old-fashioned talent show…) I find that even just reading what others have to say about the show makes it quite a bit more enjoyable.
