Hello from Chicago!
Dear all,
Hello from Chicago! This is our second visit to Chicago in 8 days. We stayed here last Saturday and Sunday night before departing on our adventure. Since then, we have logged 3000 miles. Now we are stopping back at Chicago on our way home. Funny thing about Chicago is that we thought it was way too big and busy last weekend, but now I feel like I have come home. Not home to Chicago, but home to “my” part of the country. We have decided that we are definitely Cubs fans, although we will always love the Twins. Can anyone guess what my totally tightwad husband willingly paid for Cubs tickets…to a scalper on the street?
It has been strange to visit so many unfamiliar places in one week. I think I have some interesting anecdotes to share. I have been trying to take notes as we go, so that I can remember things when I get home. The only problem with journaling is that my writing is terrible and I only found time to write when we were traveling for hours on end and I had nothing better to do! I have taken loads of digital photos and I hope to figure out how to post my photos to our web home page (that I’ve had for two years but never have taken the time to develop).
One interesting last point: I’ve lost some weight, toned my stomach and back and my digestive tract has not felt this well in a long time. This tells me that sitting on my butt for 3000 miles and eating at McDonald’s, Wendy’s or Tim Horton’s is better for me than sitting at a desk for 6 to 8 hours each day and driving my kids around for another 1 to 2 hours a day. Please explain! Obviously, we did lots of walking at each destination.
Well, I could keep writing for ever, but it’s actually 9:32pm and I’m sitting in a hotel lobby. I will write more soon. Erik is begging us to go to the top of the Sears Tower tomorrow morning, but both Rob and I get sick at great heights. Don’t know what we will end up doing about that situation! Can’t wait to get home…my mom called to tell me that our refrigerator died. Everything was spoiled and she cleaned it out for us. What a sweetheart! Rob is hoping that it isn’t the compressor, because ServicePlus doesn’t cover that. I just hope that the smell will be gone by tomorrow night.
Hope you enjoyed this digital postcard!
With love,
Theresa, Rob, Kris and Erik

We are looking forward to your return!
