Going on vacation!
I haven’t had any comments lately, so I don’t know if anyone cares…does that get me any sympathy posts? My site meter tells me that 18 people a day visit Kiihnworld, but no one stops to say hi!
We are taking a road trip. Rob has talked us into a Hall of Fame roadtrip. Here is our itinerary:
1. Chicago - stay two nights and attend a Cubs baseball game;
2. Canton, Ohio - stay one night and visit the NFL Football Hall of Fame and take Erik’s picture next to the bronze bust of Carl Eller;
3. Amherst, New York - stay two nights and visit Niagara Falls and, maybe, Fort Niagara;
4. Utica, New York - stay one night and visit Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame);
5. Toronto, Ontario - stay one night and visit the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame;
6. Somewhere between Toronto and Minneapolis…as far as we can drive in one day;
7. Drive the rest of the way back to Minneapolis
Can you guess which destination Rob chose to placate me and our daughter??? I had hoped to add the figure skating hall of fame to our trip, but learned it was in Colorado Springs!
Besides the halls of sports fame, I think we will manage to stop at each of the great lakes we haven’t been to: Huron, Ontario, Michigan and Erie. We’ve already been to Superior many times.
Prayers would be appreciated for safe travel, good vehicle performance and patience within our family. My grandfather, the 90 1/2 year old local senior golf legend in Fort Frances, Ontario, is in the hospital gracefully losing his battle with bladder cancer, so we hope that he is blessed less pain in his hip while he rests.
We all hope to discover internet cafes on the way and I will try to post.

What is this, a sports only vacation? Why? You’re going to a lot of interesting places, but not seeing the sights!?
I love Chicago. I want to take the “gangster tour”, see where Al Capone hung out, etc. All those neat houses that Frank Lloyd Wright built. The museums. Navy Pier. Downtown. Sears Tower. Ride the trains. The Chicago Board of Trade. And on and on! Broaden your horizons! Live a little!
It’s a long way for us. We don’t get to see it often.
I hope you enjoy it!

Gee, I thought I’d get accolades from the men for being such a great wife to go along on the trip! Actually, Niagara Falls is my choice, and Toronto. We live so close to Chicago, that we will be coming back again to spend more time. So I don’t feel bad about not seeing more sights there. I really love huge lakes, so I am looking forward to standing on the shore of each great lake, too. Thanks for the note, Dave from Texas!
Hey Theresa–
Have a great trip! I think no one has posted lately because we’re too busy checking out all the links you have been putting on your site lately! Have fun and don’t lean too far over the railing at Niagara Falls!
Hugs,
Suzi
Have a great time — and you should come out to Colorado Springs someday!
Hope you and your family have fun. May I recommend when in Colorado Springs: the Air Force Academy, Seven Falls, Pikes Peak Drive, and Cheyenne Mt Zoo.
One day I hope to return to Colorado with my wife (and kids?) possibly the Colorado Springs area or the Ft. Collins area. My little brother lives in Colorado Springs, so I’d be partial to that area first. I grew up around Denver, Boulder, Longmont and the cities between those listed before joining the Air Force and seeing the world. Now, I am in Kansas going to school. One day, I will return!
i am so sorry to hear about your grandfather! Colorado Springs is the best!! you have definitly got to go there oneday! I used to live in Pueblo, and we drove up to the springs atleast once a month on our way to go hiking in the mountains…there is just so much there!!! and i feel your pain on the post thing, i supposedly have 16 visitors a day, but am lucky to get one or two comments:( either im boring, or most people (except for a few) are way too shy!
